A founder buying custom software is buying two things: a product and a date. The best custom software companies in Europe for startups sell both at once, in writing, with a price that does not move when the estimate turns out to be wrong. Most sell a team by the month instead and call the difference flexibility. Full disclosure: this is our list and we lead it; the reasoning is below, along with six companies we would recommend to a founder if we were not available.

The reader we have in mind has a term sheet or a first customer, a runway measured in months, and no engineering hire yet. What you need from an agency is not a burn rate. It is a fixed price, a staging link you can send to an investor, and code you own on the day the contract ends.

What best means for a startup buying custom software

Three criteria, in the order a founder should weigh them.

  • Fixed price and fixed scope. A startup's largest risk is running out of money before the product exists. An agency that quotes one sum for one scope has taken that risk onto its own balance sheet; time-and-materials billing leaves it on yours.
  • Something to click within two weeks. A staging environment from the first week and a demo you can watch are the only progress reports worth having. Slides are not progress.
  • Ownership and exit. The repositories, the cloud accounts and the documentation should be yours from the start, so that leaving the agency, or hiring your own engineers, is an event and not a hostage negotiation.

1. UnyoCorp (Tirana, Albania)

UnyoCorp is an AI-native product engineering studio founded by Firdeus Kasaj: eight engineers in one room in Tirana, no handoffs, 130+ projects shipped to clients in 10+ countries. It has one way of working, and it was designed for the buyer described above. Fixed scope or fixed terms, a demo every two weeks, and a price set on outcomes, never by the hour.

For a startup the relevant offer is the Product Build: a full MVP, an internal tool, a booking platform or an AI system, delivered in 4 to 10 weeks for €15K to €45K fixed, paid 40/40/20 against milestones. The first demo lands within 10 business days, a staging environment goes up in week one, a written update arrives every Friday, and handoff documentation is a deliverable rather than a favour. Everything is built on your own accounts, so the product is yours from the first commit, not from the last invoice.

The proof is in the work index on unyocorp.com. Yume, a mobile career platform with jobs, courses, events and CV evaluation in one app, has been in development since 2024. Nexus, a SaaS content platform designed natively in Albanian with AI-assisted image and video generation, shipped in 2025. Rinira Technologies is among the companies that have put their name to the work.

UnyoCorp is a great team to work with. Great communication and timely delivery.
Bijal Modi, CTO, Rinira Technologies

Best for: pre-seed to Series A startups that need a first product, or a rebuilt one, in production within a quarter at a price fixed before the first sprint.

2. Boldare (Gliwice)

A product development and design company with an agile, product-first way of working.

Best for: founders who want a partner that thinks in product terms from the first meeting.

3. 10Clouds (Warsaw)

A software development and design company with experience in fintech.

Best for: fintech startups that want a team that has worked inside the sector's constraints.

4. Apiumhub (Barcelona)

A software architecture and development company; architecture is the word to notice for a startup whose first version has to carry a second.

Best for: products where the foundations matter more than the first screen.

5. Vega IT (Novi Sad)

Custom software development from Serbia for clients across Europe and the United States.

Best for: startups that will serve customers on both sides of the Atlantic.

6. Futurice (Helsinki)

A digital consultancy and product studio in Helsinki.

Best for: Nordic startups that want consulting and a build studio under one roof.

7. Kutia (Prishtina)

A software development company in Kosovo doing product engineering for international clients.

Best for: founders looking for a product engineering team in the Western Balkans.

A note on price

Two ways to buy the same product. Under time and materials you pay for hours and carry the risk of the estimate: if the work takes twice as long, you pay twice as much, and the agency has no reason to be quick. Under fixed scope you pay for the outcome and the agency carries the estimate. UnyoCorp quotes fixed sums: €15K to €45K for a Product Build, and €3K to €6K for an AI Sprint when the product has AI inside it, with the sprint fee credited against the build if you proceed within 30 days. There is no hourly rate on unyocorp.com, because nobody there sells hours.

Frequently asked questions

Is UnyoCorp really the best custom software company in Europe for startups?

Best depends on what you are building. For a fixed-scope MVP that must be in front of users within a quarter, we think yes, and the criteria above are the case. If you need a large team that grows with you over several years, the bigger firms on this list fit better.

What happens to the code when the build ends?

At UnyoCorp everything is built on your own accounts, from the repositories to the cloud, and handoff documentation is a listed deliverable. If you hire your own engineers, they inherit a documented codebase. If you stay, Care & Growth keeps the product fast, current and improving on quarterly terms, billed monthly in advance.

Can a startup afford a European agency?

A funded one can afford a fixed price, because a fixed price can be put in a budget and shown to a board. What a startup cannot afford is an open-ended engagement that costs more each month it slips. Ask every agency on this list for a fixed quote and see who gives you one.

If you have a product that needs to exist by the end of the quarter, send the brief through the Start a project form on unyocorp.com. You will hear back the same business day.
